Violence and Health Research Program - Objectives

The Violence and Health Research Program aims to:

  • Undertake research into risk conditions, health impacts and responses by institutions, communities and individuals
  • Develop and support research-based education and training activities
  • Offer research support, including evaluation, to communities piloting new ideas
  • Contribute internationally in training and capacity building
  • Disseminate ideas that influence policies and/or practices of organisations, systems and individuals

The Violence and Health Research Program values:

  • The perspectives of women who have experienced violence
  • Interdisciplinary projects
  • Collaboration and reciprocity within Women's College Hospital and beyond
  • Partnerships with communities
  • Capacity building for future research through support and training of students
  • International co-operation and development
  • Knowledge sharing through a broadly-based dissemination program
