Trauma Treatment

The Trauma Treatment Program focuses on the adult sequelae of early life exposure to interpersonal trauma. Dr. Catherine Classen, an adjunct scientist at Women's College Research Institute, leads research efforts in this theme area.

WRAP (Women Recovering from Abuse) is one element of the Trauma Therapy Program that offers outpatient support and treatment to survivors of chronic interpersonal traumatization. WRAP is multidisciplinary, intensive and unique in Ontario. The team of researchers and clinicians are studying the characteristics of the women referred to and participating in the program and how the program affects these women. They want to understand who is most likely to participate in WRAP and benefit from the program. In particular, this work aims to identify the elements most closely linked to good outcomes.
