In December 2005, the Final Report and Recommendations from the HIV PEP Study were submitted to the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care describing the outcomes of this two year study and offering a viable framework for a universal program of HIV Post-Exposure Prophylaxis that could be offered by all of Ontario's Sexual Assault/Domestic Violence Care and Treatment Centres. Based on this research, the Ministry is providing ongoing base funding to support the universal offering of HIV PEP medications at Ontario's 34 Sexual Assault/Domestic Violence Treatment Centres, effective September 2006.
