Research and Academic Interests
Dr. Kotsopoulos' work assesses the use of cellular, hormonal and dietary markers to identify women at risk of developing breast and ovarian cancer and to evaluate the potential protective effects of dietary and lifestyle changes. She works with Dr. Steven Narod to look specifically at the heightened breast cancer risks facing women with close relatives who have breast cancer, even when no specific genetic risk factor can be identified. She will focus on expanding the scant prevention information available to these high risk women looking for dietary and lifestyle interventions which could reduce their risk.
