Dr. Richard Brull has led the development of a clinical research program at Women’s College Hospital (WCH) aimed at reducing opioids, avoiding postoperative nausea and vomiting, expediting hospital discharge, and improving patient satisfaction using nerve blocks for ambulatory surgery. Among his current academic pursuits are the development of more reliable, safe, and easy to perform regional anesthesia techniques for women undergoing ambulatory breast cancer surgery and the reduction of standardized preoperative laboratory testing for all patients undergoing surgery at WCH.
