Scientist, Women’s College Research Institute
Scientist, Women’s College Hospital Institute for Health System Solutions and Virtual Care
Assistant Professor, Institute of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation, University of Toronto

Laura is an implementation scientist and physiotherapist. Her work focuses on policy-oriented evaluations of complex health interventions with the goal of understanding and optimizing delivery and system-wide scale-up. Specifically, Laura’s work seeks to understand the process, mechanism(s) of change, and contextual factors that characterize an intervention and its interaction with the health system, instead of simply evaluating whether the intervention worked "in general." Her projects involve partnerships with the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, Health Quality Ontario, the Ontario Medical Association, and Cancer Care Ontario, among others. She is working with the Women’s College Hospital Institute for Health System Solutions and Virtual Care (WIHV) to develop and implement new models of evaluation for digital healthcare technologies.
