Dr. Sheila Dunn’s educational and research interests include health care delivery and access to sexual health services such as family planning, emergency contraception, abortion and cervical cancer screening. Her research has improved access to cervical cancer screening for underserved and vulnerable women in Toronto, including immigrants, refugees, and individuals who are under-housed or living on the street. She has also conducted research on culturally sensitive contraceptive recommendations for women with unmet contraceptive needs. In 2016, she launched mobile website called What's Next For Me? to inform women about their emergency contraception options. The website provides up-to-date evidence about emergency contraception and a clinic finder for sexual health clinics in Toronto.
