Conference to advance trauma-informed care

May 2014

Trauma TalksAfter a highly successful launch, Trauma Talks will hold its second conference on May 30, 2014, bringing together experts in psychological trauma, medicine and mental health to continue the dialogue on trauma-informed care.

“Our conference is an opportunity for healthcare providers to learn how trauma impacts a person’s health and interactions with the healthcare system,” said conference chair, Dr. Catherine Classen, who is the academic leader for the Trauma Therapy Program and a senior scientist at Women’s College Research institute.

This year’s conference, entitled Advancing Cultural Understandings in Trauma-Informed Care, will focus on the intersection of culture and trauma and its significance when working with trauma survivors. To learn more, visit http://www.traumatalks.ca/
