Dr. Iliana Lega’s research focuses on the complex relationship between diabetes and cancer. Her work has examined the impact of diabetes and diabetes-related treatments on breast cancer outcomes and she is a co-investigator on a study examining disparities in cancer treatments among patients with diabetes. Other research interests include cancer survivorship and endocrine complications following cancer treatments. She is currently leading a study that examines the risk of diabetes among childhood cancer survivors.
