The research interests of Hilary Brown, PhD, lie at the intersection of maternal and child health and chronic disease epidemiology. She is particularly interested in the influence of maternal chronic medical conditions and maternal disabilities on prenatal, fetal/neonatal, and postnatal health and in the use of quantitative and qualitative methods to disentangle biological and social determinants of these outcomes. Currently funded projects include a Women’s Xchange grant examining maternal mental health and parenting outcomes among women with intellectual disabilities and an Indigenous and Northern Affairs Canada grant examining mental health outcomes among Aboriginal teenage mothers.
